View Full Version : Question about Single Tubby vacuum lines

Ok, i've been given a partial map for my single tubby for use up to 7psi (Which is the spring rate i have in the wastegate). All good so far - knock is a little high under initial boost, which we think maybe down to a leak in the upper inlet manifold as we can hear a hissing noise around that area.
However, I want to double check my vacuum lines, and have this diagram here which shows what lines are required for single turbo application. My question is, is this yellow line required, as mine is not setup like this.

Isn't that the one for atomising the fuel? Not sure it's needed, I don't remember seeing it at all when I stripped mine down, it's possibly just on California spec cars.

I have no idea! Anyone else able shed any light?

Ok, i have found a diagram that is slightly better, and it is indeed labelled for fuel atomisation. Is this required? Sounds like a good idea to me.
Also, as can be seen, the fuel pressure regulator is connected via a solenoid, do i need to do this? As currently i am using a standard pressure regulator that which has a vacuum line going from the upper inlet manifold straight to the pressure regulator.

I'm doing away with the fuel pressure solenoid. It's only used for hot starts to add more fuel (it blocks the fpr from sensing vacuum and dropping the fuel pressure). I believe it'll start ok without it.
I don't remember seeing the atomisation line on mine but I'm prepared to be corrected by someone with more knowledge.
The only solenoid I've kept is the Fuel Purge Control one. Apparently you'll get a whiff of petrol in the cabin without this one.

Cool, that clears some stuff up for me then. Cheers. Just got to find out why she's 'hissing' now! :)
(Oh, and i don't have the fuel pressure solenoid in, and have no problems starting her)
