after reading the leaky cab, i would add another twist on things !
my sun roof leaks ( bet you guessed that by the title )
i mean really leaks - then drivers seat is damp ( to the extent that i have to sit on a plastic bag ) and the sun visor is dripping with water and the roof is also damp
the sunroof was removed and resprayed by the previous owner , so is it likly that he did something wrong
does it have drain holes that are blocked ?
do the seals go ? ( where ever they are )
some one help - its no fun trying to drive and hold a brolly !!
Thanks

replace the seals. after a period of time the seal would have been pressed in a certain position. now the sunroof had been removed and reinstalled the seal might not be quite sealing properly due to being crushed in the old position. leaving gaps for water to get in.

humm i thought the same
until i saw the price of seals ! - i nearly died !
as i dont use the sunroof as it is winter - im thinking of coating it in a thick layer of vasalene ( sp ) and seeing if that works !
but actually it hasnt been too bad over the last few weeks - maybe it wasnt shut properly !! ??

They do have Drain pipes but you'll have to take the head lining out to get at them.
Not a nice job

well i go by the saying "you pay now or pay more later"
having the extra cost of having to fix mouldy interior from moisture is not a good prospect id like to face.

If it's an early model like mine (1984) with the metal 'sunroof', I'd be checking the drain holes regularly. Both are in the front (leading) corners of the roof opening; I took a long length of clear plastic tube (the stuff that connects the windscreen washer nozzle system) and very carefully pushed it down the drain holes until the tube exited in the front wheel arch area. I would also check the seals around the metal lugs that locate the front of the sunroof into the roof proper.
Maybe mine is missing it, but what other seals are there for the sunroof? (And maybe why I get a bit of a draught?)

Mine an 88 model
i have poured water down both front holes and they drain fine ( roughly the same as what i poured in )
and i did the same with the back holes aswell
as i said though - it doesnt seem to bad now - maybe it wasnt shut properly !
although the previous owner had the sunroof resprayed - maybe something happened when they refitted it ??
thanks for all the help so far though !
