Hi There Ppl,
Just Wondering, What Is The Advantage Of Having A Non-sequential Setup? When Do Both Turbo's Kick In Then? Do I Lose The Traffic Friendly Drive And Low End Boost??? Will It Have The Lag Of A Gtr???
Thanx

hi mate, one main advantage for that setup is it removes/bypasses some of the complicated sequential setup. Good for if you having boost issues. I found it very laggy and you will have to have a remap to accomodate. I had mine mapped at 0.9 bar and full boost was around 4.5k
Do I Lose The Traffic Friendly Drive And Low End Boost
I quite enjoyed it really, like driving a car with a smallish single, but you will loose the low end boost as they take a while to spin up!

In theory yes, but i believe you can set the revs at which both turbo's come online, say about 3500rpm which then isn't too laggy ? I'm sure someone will correct me if wrong ?
The advantage of having Non-sequential is thats its like having a small single turbo's rx and you get the power in one go rather than getting 2 bursts :D

Really itchin to give this a go, just to see what it feels like,if i do the cheap way diy, it's always possible to go back again! how long does it take to do, and how long is a piece of string anyway!

Another NS thread??? lol
You can indeed Gurj, Had mine kicking in around 3.5k but it'll take some mapping and attention to egts to get spool real low. You have to keep in mind exactly what it is that you are doing with the conversion, its almost one rotor per snail so lag will be increased as you'll be dissabling the manifold gate and the entire secondary prespool system. I loved it though, great for sideways action and an easy way to allow increased boost.
I did the full conversion to see the effects of a single surge before making the plunge and building a single turbo system and loved it so much I ordered the single in a matter of weeks.
encourages a bit of a sensible side around town, but country roads etc are a dream, its an acquired taste from what I can gather, you like it or you don't (like Marmite! lol) I loved it as it got rid of the irritating dip in boost from primary to secondary and cleared out the engine bay a little.

Thanks for clearing that up Shyne,
Remember someone saying they had non-sequential kicking in at 3500rpm but couldn't remember who :Hammer

I have mixed opinion on mine running non sequential. Its more progressive and driveable for sure, used to get fed up in the wet especially of wheelspin as soon as the 2nd turbo came in for anything up to 3rd gear.
It is however very laggy, which really is quite annoying. Its fine if you keep it about 5k which you will if you know you are going for it, but its the times when you arnt and are just sitting waiting you think come on...

I think its safe to say that NS really is a marmite style, horses for courses mod that only suits those who know exactly why they are performing it, I found it great for drifting (my intention), calming around town with better FE and I've been told its good for drag racing too. It depends what you're looking for in the car as when the Seq system is working well, its a hell of a car to beat, its just the curse of the generic faults with the system that annoy I guess.

I'm looking to conquer the Nurburgring, faster each year, think NS would be good for that ?? The Rex is going on a trailer this year and won't be used for much else except track days and shows.

Save your money and do a propper job.......... buy a single kit, I personaly think NS is a poor relation to the stock setup and is in no way comparable to a propper single, if you are fedup with boost issues and cannot afford a single kit then it is a worthwhile excesize. Mind you if your only intention is the Ring and you have boost issues then go for it, if not leave as is, there are no power gains from this mod

Cheers John, was planning to spend all available cash on a set of coilovers and an FMIC so will continue in that vane (oh, and replace the bodywork damaged last year !!).
Cheers,
Mart.
