hi there all,

iv heard some rex's before and im talking about freggin' loud 1's...ive got a HKS super dragger which has a decat on the downpipe and 3.5inch down pipe but as my m8 told me, theres also another CAT in the mid section...is this true... if i do get it done will it b as loud as we all like with the super dragger back system???

cheers

most noise increase comes from replacing the mid pipe so itll be hella loud

HKS is one of theee most restrictive systems you can get for the fd...

The centre section has a cat which if removed you will need to remap the car and get a stand alone ecu...but youl gain roughly 30hp with decat and remap :)

and wot happens if i just get the mid-pipe decatted and dont remap it str8 away? is this because of the lambda sensor???

If its that loud you must already be running a Mid pipe. I've run my car with no cat back on and it was'nt exactly silly loud, but thats with a STD Down pipe and cat.

Also the Jap imports only have one cat (in the mid pipe) if its a UK car you will have a pre cat too (thats in the down pipe).

You can also remove the wadding out of the back box to increase noise - makes it more like a straight through.

Also check your exhaust - I originally had a Blitz exhaust (IIRC) which wasn't all that loud until I discovered there was a silencing bung in it. Some of the wide diameter single exits do have these for track day use or just to quieten the car down a bit generally - not everyone likes a loud exhaust note prefering stealth mode.

All the best

Loud is like sticking a sign on your roof with a big arrow saying "I'M SPEEDING COME STOP ME!!!" Not only that they don't have to be able to see you they can hear you and have time to finish there Donut and find the Speeding gun under all the empty Coffey cups.

Not that i don't Like loud but i'd rather have "Get on Track!!" level of Noise.
