can anyone tell me when i bought my fd it has it down as a 1.8 (yes thats what i thought)
when i contacted dvla i had to prove that it was a 1.3 so is theyre anyway i can do this bearing in mind pip has just fully rebuilt the engine and ported it so will theyre be a way for pip to prove it for me.
any info would help as i am very envious of you lucky ones who have it down as a 1.3 for the tax factor

mines is down as a 2.0ltr
know a m8`s is shown as a 1.3 but dont know how to prove it is one.

Sometimes you can get away with asking Pip for a WGT headded letter which states the engine to be 2x654cc or 1308cc total. You would have of course have to pay for this from Pip.

You then send off an updated version of your V5c along with the WGT letter - THEN YOU PRAY!

It could work or you could end up with them insisting it's 2616cc!

I bought a FD sales leaflet i bought of Ebay and sent that with a Letter saying it was ither 2x654 cc (as it said in the leaflet) or 1300cc. i seem to remember sending them some other stuff that i'd printed off the MazdaSpeed US web site too saying it was 1300cc.

Mine came back as a 1300 but i understand it works better if you have just bought the car and its a Jap import.

This is the same as mine. Mine was down as a 2.0 on the log book when i bought it. It had already been in the country a couple of years.
All i did was printed off 2 differant spec lists from car review web sites that i founds on google. I highlighted the parts that show the capacity (2 x 654cc) then wrote a brief covering letter explaining that this was the only engine option ever available for this car. I sent all this off with the v5 to the dvla and they sent me back a new log book with the capacity changed to 1308cc.
Probably the most hastle free dealing i've ever had with the dvla.
