This may sound daft but is there diffrent types of Fuel hose and are some better for higher temp? I don't want any Fuel leaks.:Nono!

I'm changing all the vac hoses and some of the Fuel hoses look a bit old and Grotty so i might as well swap them over.

I have noticed there is a few diffrent types of Hose Low and high pressure as well. Oviously i will need High Pressure hose but is there any i should look out for?

I did think anout getting some Braided hose but i'm led to belive you need diffrent fittings for the ends? (it doesn't work well with std Hose clips)

braided is best providing you have all the propper fittings.

aeroquip requires threaded unions to be brazed / silver soldered onto existing pipework.

heres what i had made for my cosworth

a std fuel rail modified with -6an fittings the result was this

the problem with using jubilees on braided hose is they dont seem to seal correctly well in my case they didnt and i had fuel leaking out due to braided hose being used with jubilee clips i replaced it with rubber high pressure hosing untill i get round to using the fittings above on my entire fuel system.

MMM this is'nt my car so i did'nt realy want to go to start cutting and brazing.

On my Car i have a KG kit which came with the Baided lines back to the Fuel Reg but this is a Fairly stock car and i don't think my mate has that sort of money knocking about for new rails etc.

So that said i'm proberly best using Rubber hose, but are they all the makes kind of the same? and is the Cotton Braided line some where in between Rubber and Stainless braided?

Hijacking this thread a little here, but has anyone used those clamp on Magnet things that sit on a fuel line, supposed to offer better mpg. RHDJapan are selling them and apparently big reviews in Japan on them but dubious about such items tbh

lol magnetizing molecules i cant see it giving a great increase in performance !

however it is usefull when you spray paint cars lol

nothing wrong with rubber hose on standard metal work unless your running aftermarket FPR and higher Fuel pressure

:rollin

I guess it would be great if you managed to get some fuel that had metal fillings in then decided you would be best not using a Fuel filter and ran out of Fuel at the same time. LOL

On a serious note, I think i'm just going to buy some High presure Rubber hose for the car, i was just thinking there is lots of heat under around the rats nest and Heat and fuel don't mix. So i have been looking at Heat sheath (In the demon Tweeks catalog) at least if i use this stuff it will help a bit.
