I know that a lot of people are hurting for a new RX-7... but remember that the RX-8 is testing the water and without some serious RX-8 success there will probably not be a new RX-7.
I'm really confused why Mazda is keeping the car so well under wraps for so long... but only time will tell.... In the mean time, spread the word!!!
In reality, I'm sure that more people will be able to buy the RX-8 even if they really want an RX-7... most people need a bit of space and can't just buy an extra car for fun. The RX-8 is poised to be a great success, I hope!
Mabe Mazda can finally prove the rotary and we'll start to see more of them!

I agree with you . A new RX-7 depends on RX-8 success ...So we all have to buy RX-8 !
Yes , must wait a long time...i have heard that Mazda is not yet satisfyed with the petrol consumption...

if they are unhappy with the petrol consumption then surely a sports car is the best platform to launch the new engine in ? surely its the only class where performance is the top priority and petrol consumption fairly low on the list.
I'm just waiting to see if a rotary MX5 apears ! that would surely dent the sales figures for a new RX7 though

according to a statement from mazda(which of course i cant find the link to now) they have improved the fuel economy to @24mpg in the city or roughly 30% over the current engine in the latest rx7. the also said that they could gain another 30% or so by 2005 and then it would be @30mpg in the city.

I wonder what they will change to improve it, and why it's gonna take so long to develop.
Must be engine management to some degree...
Hey Zoom, fancy meeting you here!

hello blue! apparently i am the 1st american here. i am sure there will be more soon though. your going to have to teach me some english phrasology so that i can fit in around here. things like "you've got that round the wrong way" what is it you call parking lots anyway?
engine management has to be a big part of the fuel milage increase. along with timing and better plugs and hotter coils. i am just guessing here, i don't have a good understanding of engine management stuff.
