Pop Up Lights ...

Right then , this is really annoying me now

here is the situation

( Note : 1988 RX7 2nd Gen )

Put lights on side lights and the lights pop up and the lights by the indicators light up

Next door neighbour puts his side lights on and the lights stay down , just the ones by the indicators light

both cars are the same year and same spec

not sure why this happens as they are both UK spec cars

i like to drive round with my side lights on as the dash is a bit dark , its just annoying with the lights up - the better half just thinks i am showing off

any ideas ????

switch problem imho, try to swap headlight switch (borrow his or get some which for sure works)

not being funny is that a guess - or is that probably what the problem is ???

how easy are the switches to remove ?????

So what you are telling me - on every RX7 ( 2nd gen ) when you put your side lights on you should get :

1 - headlights down
2 - side lights on ( near indicators )
3 - light shinning thru the 'flash to pass' bit

removing/installing headlight switch is piece of cake.....small philips screwdriver, 5 screws and u are there...... about 2 minute job if u know what to do.....

u could try his, if your is faulty, go find another one or fix it (there will be some cold connection (resolder all connections)

headlight has 2 positions

0- everything off
1- position lights on, popups down (on US models side markers in bumper on, rear lights on ( front headlights does not shine thru FTP's until u actually press flash to pass toggle)
2 - everything on, popups up
