View Full Version : Sureterm - not so good

I have read a lot of glowing reviews about Sureterm direct on the forum, and seeing as my insurance was due for my S13 200sx I thought I'd give them a go.
The quote was bloody awful - £750+ TPFT on a vehicle which is group 17 (not 20 like the 7), 11 years old and worth 2K at most.
10K miles a year, parked on the driveway of my house in a low crime rate area.
I'm 25 in December and have 6 years no claims bonus.
The car in unmodified except for alloys and SS exhaust, and a U.K. model.
So, can someone explain why my quote is so high and others considerably younger than me with next to zero NCB can insure an imported RX7 TT for roughly the same money fully comp??!!!
Or are Sureflow making these figures on a day to day basis, or just couldn't be bothered with my business?
:reallymad :reallymad :reallymad

Thats not good - Are you insuring it as your main car?
I'm 21 (will be) when I insure my Rx but that is as second car so that could be the reason?

Yeah when I was looking for my 2nd car they wouldnt insure me on lots of things, but another RX7 was fine. :)
Maybe they dont class the S13 as a classic :p

Yeah, the quote was based as my main car for commuting etc.
I don't think that because a car is more than 10 years old it immediately qualifies for 'classic' insurance, and in any case most schemes that offer classic car insurance are closed to those under 25.;)
I plan to get a 7 VERY soon as my second car though, and must admit they are much nicer to drive, and to look at than my Nissan!!
I've just re-insured with my long term broker Adrian Flux for £400 TPFT, which also covers me on other vehicles with the owners consent, so I guess that's not too bad as my main vehicle - a bit different from £750+ :rollin

As if it wasnt going to be bad enough anyway, if thats now the case I have serious concerns about my abilty to keep an FD beyond spring :(
I still think insurance companys make half the stuff up depending who you talk to and what mood they are in though.

I wouldnt be too worried if I thought it was because I had a TVR beckoning. I recon im more likely to have a Micra looming after having a total loss claim lossing all my NCB

You just stick to ya pink roller blades frith!
You may as well buy a weights bench rather than a TVR...both will make you look good, though both live in the garage! the bench is a lot cheaper and you can use it more times without it blowing up hehe
saying that thou there's a nice brand new dark blue thing at work.. very nice, I still get more looks thou :D
