I believe (but I could be wrong) that Type Rs have different front calipers than standard model (4 pot instead of 2 pot). When it is time to replace mine, are the pads the same as any other model, or are they a specific shape for the Type R caliper? Should say mine is a 1994 Type R.

Any info on pad brands available (Mintex, Ferodo, AP, Performance Friction?) and suppliers much appreciated. Don't know how long mine have got left on them, but I'd like to be prepared.

Thanks

Andrew

Andrew, all the FD versions came with 4 pot calipers, so no change.

The choice of pads isn't that good. You have Hawk, Performance Friction and Mintex.

Recommend the Performance Friction pads, but they are a pain to get hold of in FD size. Hawks do a couple of different compounds to choose from.
