Hi all.

I met a few of you guys at JAE this year, Karen and I had a great time finding out all we could about your cars and were most grateful for all the honest advice that was given. In fact if she hadnt dragged me away Clive and I would probably still be talikng now !!!

Anyway, I have finally sold my house and got my finances in order so that my dreams can be reality, and whilst I wanted both an rx7 and a skyline I will have to make do with one at a time  .

So first love is coming first, and that means a nice shiney rx gen 3 needs to be sitting on my drive soon !!

With this in mind I think I have found a couple of nice ones for sale........quite heavily modded too which should be a laugh....... and was hoping that someone who knows a thing or two about the old rotaboat could come along and stop me buying an expensive hand-grenade!! The first one I would like to check out will be in the UK in early january, and is in the hertfordshire area, I live in north Essex, so if there is anyone whos up for a Little Chef breakfast on me then please let me know.

Many thanks,

James.

James, welcome to the fold. Your best bet would be to look at New Era Imports. Miguel knows his stuff on the 7, as his is a tuned beast.

Cheers Dan,

I know Miguel quite well now.......having spent several hours on the phone to him, and indeed he will be searching for a top class skyline for me.

However , being an impatient git I wanted a toy I could play with now, which is why I spotted this mad rx, and wondered if someone was willing to come with me and check it out. I dont mean I want a mechanical report, just someone who knows what things to check, other than the obvious, white smoke for turbo, grey smoke for rings(i know they dont have em) etc which is about my mechanical limit

Thanks again, and I am looking forward to hooking up with a few of you at a meet as soon as I get a car sorted.

James........

Hi James,

As for thing to look for with your future RX-7 purchase, I have made a listing of items in this Thread:

What to look for when purchasing an FD 3rd gen. RX-7 (http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=256)

Have a read through that - and through other parts of the Forum (I think I will post it up as a seperate item for people to view).

If there are any other questions - please do not hesitate to ask :)

Lee,

Sounds like a great idea, nice to hear from you again........I didnt know if you would speak to me again from fear of total deafness after our last little two hour "chat" !! lol

Yes, I was down at the grasshopper a couple of months ago, I blagged a lift in Glens R34..........oops, sorry now Daves R34 - got to be nice to him cos he's mates with the devil!!..........see you there matey.:D

James.........

PS........I spoke to scary Steve the editor of Fast Car today, and he said he would help me and come and check out the rx in January, so it should be a good laugh, the guy also has a beautiful concepts kitted '99 rx type r which Im probably gonna take for a blast around xmas.

BTW,

I realise this probably sounds a bit stupid, given that I havent actually seen/driven or even purchased the car yet, but I bought 2grands worth of 19" custom made OZ alloys today, ready for January delivery, so if it all goes :censored::censored::censored::censored: up someone might get a bargain !!!:D ;)

James..........
