Hi people, I am moving up too 18 inch alloys and would like too know the best tyre sizes too go for. I know this has probably been asked before but I have trawelled through alot of the threads and cant seem too find an answer. I thought I saw a picture of a silver car showing off his new 18 inch wheels (which were very nice by the way) once but cant seem too find that ethier. Any help would be most welcome, cheers Leigh.:cool

Yes, that was me!
Try looking at this link:
http://www.takakaira.com/rimsandtyres/rimsandtyresindex.asp
It provides quite a good table to show you what size tyres fit on what size rims, and the offsets for an rx7.
Hope it helps!!
FYI I went for 8 inch rims front, 9 inch rear both with 43 offset. No rubbing.
I have used them at Nurburgring, Spa, Castle Combe, Silverstone and never even grazed them on the arches or inner wings.
I went for 235/40 x 18 front and 265/35 x 18 rear. If doing it again, I would go for half inch wider on the rims, like 8.5 and 9.5 for a really really good rim/tyre combo. Shame as I couldn't get my rims in half inch increments.
Check the weights of your rim of choice though, some look nice but are really heavy. Stock rims are very very light.

Hi, You mean these?
Volk Rays SE37W
Front
18x 8.5 front. with 225/40
Rear
18x 9.5 Rear with 255/35
Idel Offset is +38.
Correct tire size is 235/40 & 265/35 on 18
Mine are a tiny bit out so I run 2mm spacers all round.
The tyres are not correct as they stetch over the rim a little.
Give very direct turn in however as the sidewall cannot flex.
But I like this setup anyway.
Weight is same as TE37.
Its a Forged design and they are a little lighter than standard wheels.
Others to consider. Enkei F1 and SSR Type C rs (both light and cheap)
Russ.

No they were not the ones I saw before, but I must say what a fine looking set of alloys. The alloys that I was thinking of buying are not wide enough too support 255 tyres so its back too the drawing board for me so many choices but Euro wheels do not seem too be able too cope with wider tyres, still enjoy looking though part of the pleasure me thinks. Cheers Leigh.
