i've been reading various American sites about buying an rx-7, the all mention 3 re-calls on the cars the re-calls were for early 3rd gens and were a vacuum hose modification, new (high temp) fuel lines and cooling system (pressure cap and fan control module).
do i need to wory about these problems or were they sorted before the 3rd gen was released in Europe?

Richard,
Do you have the dates, further info. etc. that these recalls were made?
The Vacuum hoses are very complex and you can have problems with them - most people replace them all after 10 years anyways.
Pressure Cap, was probably the AST (Air Separation Tank) - this has been known to fail and most people replace them with Aluminium ones (instead of the standard plastic), Ant at www.reworx.co.uk (http://www.reworx.co.uk) should be able to sort you out with one.
As for the fuel lines, I'm not sure - got anymore details?

sorry but i dont have any dates, i have repeatedly seen the re-call info on American sites but never heard of them over here. I only know that they were for early rx-7's ie 92-93.
The two problems which you describe should have been replaced by Mazda if they were the re-calls but i dont think there were, they seem to be a common problem all over the world but Mazda have just left them.
I have a feeling that there were no re-calls for European cars, as i have never heard of it , although i have haerd of the problem on early models with the the paint and the dash!
