When I was shopping around for my insurance for the FD, I tried Sureterm.

I totally forgot about them, until clearing out some old paperwork.

Was quoted 481.87 on a comprehensive cover, valued at 8k with 6k miles a year. This is as a second car.

The excess was only 100 quid as well.

Might be worth giving them a try.

I spoke to these guys at the weekend, 6k is the maximum they insure to, and perfer you having a second car, basically if you fall into this catagory then they are the guys for you :)

They insure to more than 6k, because they paid me more than that after I wrote my last one off... :( Still not as much as I wanted though.

Hmm interesting, they said to me if I lowered the milage to 6K or under they would do it? So did you have it insuered to go more that 6K or did they just pay up even though you had done more than 6K?

Ahh I thought you meant a value of 6k. Anyway the answer is the same because Im insured for 12,000 miles as my only car (but with use of others in the household). Also includes commuting.
