Guess there will be some plates about going for silly money now, if it turns out to be true.

bad news about this, but sorry, the engine is just 10 years old. So Mazda should have some parts for this engine, no them must have parts!
Have just droped few mails to Rotary friends in Japan, hope them have few stock.

If Mazda have stopped producing them do you think they will be able to sell the design or whatever to a company that will make them - if you get me!

Guys
Could you enlighten me as to what the centre bearing plate does and why /when you would need to replace it? I have no idea about mechanical stuff but I'm looking to get a 20b cosmo soon and would like to know if this is going to be a huge potential problem.
Thanks in advance.

Its the sandwich for want of better words the plate that sits between the rotor housings. On a three rotor it has a bearing in the middleish of the essentric shaft, it holds that bearing.
Racing beat make aftermarket ends and center plates so it should not be to much of a problem and I think one or two others are looking or making alternatives. Plus the reusable ones.

I heard about the "No more centre bearing plates" rumour & bought a new one for myself just in case. Paid AUS$900 for it but was worth it....... :yes
2 months later & the rumour became a reality. No more centre bearing plates guys.
Unless I sell my Cosmo, I will not sell my spare centre bearing plate seperately. Its now too valuable.
However, I know a guy that has 2 of them new & he isn' even into rotaries. So if your "desperate" then buzz me & do a deal with him...
