sadly i had to sell my FC EGI due to lack of cash to refurb it and space, although the new owner has used it as a donor for a custom built kit! should be fun! will try to get him to take it to rotorstock3!!!
sorry about the quality of the pics but i had to take them on my phone...
will keep the site updated as and when it progresses... :driving

as far as i am aware it is going to be based along the lines of a lotus
"Super 7" (partly why he is using an RX7 power plant, nice touch!) i have suggested to him that he should use the "efini" badge to really confuse people!
i know from the conversation i had at the workshop at the begining of the week that he has already had to allow for a "power buldge" in the bonnet to make room for the intake plenum!
its also going to have a straight through (or as near to it) custom built exhaust starting at the block to a side exit, should have a nice crack to it!

i have some more pictures of the project so far, the chap building it says he will have it finished by rotorstock but i cant see it myself! :Hammer
the engine, gearbox and driveshaft have been fitted, all wishbones (mazda ali ones used, nicce!) and hubs are in place no suspension has been installed as yet (waiting for coilovers).
the exhaust ports have ended up right behind one of the chassis beams so the exhaust is going to be custom fit from there to rear exit as it was decided it may be a bit loud for short side exit!
the sump is a bit low though, the finished height will be approx 60-75mm from the deck! a bit too close for me, so bars will be fitted slightly lower and a skid tray added.
the old FC shell is available for free (inc all glass but no interior trim) for anyone who can collect it!
Cheers, Brunge

Looks like he's taking his custom build ideas from the americans: the chassis is not a very stroing design, being just basically two long struts down the side. For a stronger chassis, he ideally needs to build a space from chassic, like the lotus/caterham and westfields. Much stronger, with less flex in the body. Giving a better drive, and improved handling.

I thought that when i saw it for the first time! not sure if he is going to add any additional bracing i would hope so! for the amount of ££££s he is gettin paid to build it for someone i wish he would pull his finger out and get it sorted so i can take it for a spin!!! :Snoring
