Those results were from Meremere which is about an hour south of Auckland.

I have since heard that at Masterton the other day the Datsun 1200 went 7.89 and the HVATOS RX-3 (not mentioned above) is into the 9's as well!!

I hear the two Aussie cars that came over weren't far off their PB's at Meremere either!!!

Yeah Mike same guys, they're back to RWD again, this time running a 4 rotor (26B) PP turbo in a newer 323 shell with a tube frame front end.

UPDATE:

The NZPerformance Series 4 RX-7 has just broken into the 9s with a 9.57

Looks like it's turning out to be an excellent summer on the strip this year with quite a few PBs being broken.

I ran a best of 9.03@153 (PB 8.87@158 13BT untubbed RX2) without a really clean pass all weekend, Wayne ran 8.51@157 (PB 8.38@161 20BT untubbed RX3).

We ran C8 over the weekend, so our poor little untubbed street chassis cars had to run full chassis race cars! Wayne still qualified 3rd, so we were happy with that.
