I took me RX7 out the other day and as I put my foot down to over take, as the revs got up it was hesitating (lumpy).
Now, I haven't been driving it much over the last few months, probably 1 hour every two weeks, and also when I took it in for some paint work about a month ago, they flooded it, obviously because they were just starting it up and moving it regulary.
i just wondered if the hesitancy could be down to Spark plugs which have been wet even though they were installed twoo weeks before they flooded it?
any ideas?

Sounds like the Sparkies, get them out and have a look to see if they have been fouled via the flooding you encountered ;)

i had the same peoblem, first things id check are the following :
1. Spark Plugs (£45)
2. Fuel Filter (£35)
3. Lambda Sensor (£40)
these things should be available from autofactors. My problems was the lambda causing the lumpy drive. Now that its been replaced, it drives like a dream

You could try plug leads too - I had very similar issues with mine which a set of brand new plug leads sorted.

nikp, you say plug leads. was the hesitancy only from cold engine to hot? or only when it got hot?

Was with both. Hot and Cold
Actually, when i think about it, i only noticed it when hot, but that's because i took it easy when it was cold. You don't wanna boot any engine when it's cold, so i kept it easy.

inder the drivers seat, under the carpet, there is a braided wire going through the floor. is this the wire for the cat heat switch?
