Hi all,
I'm getting closer to having the funds to go get an FD, so I'd like to know how the export procedure works in the UK, and then especially the timing part of it.
I've searched here on MRC, haven't found anything, and had a look at the DVLA site.
As I understand from the DVLA, if the owner has a Registration Document V5, he has to fill in section C and send it to DVLA. Then up to two weeks later, he receives a Certificate of Permanent Export V561, which goes with the car.
Am I correct in assuming that this means it can take up to two weeks from saying "yep, it's a sale" to taking the car with you?
And what if the owner has a Registration Certificate V5C. DVLA site says export must be notified on the purple section, and that the Registration Certificate stays with the car (if I understand correctly). Does this mean the buyer can take the car with him immediately?
