old owner new problem

hi everyone,
I would like to know if anyone has any idea on how I can read the error codes.I have searched so many sites and had no joy.
My car has run well for almost a year and recently lost compression.I had a spare engine so I popped it in and now it wont start.
Any help would be appreciated
