Skirting

While looking at 3rd Gens on the internet I've noticed that some have body coloured front skirts and side skirts, whereas other have no side skirts and black front skirting. Do only certain models have this or was it standard fit after a particular year? I'd rather have one with the skirting cos it looks a lot better in my opinion.

Hi there!

Some of these models are probably imports from Japan. Mazdaspeed has produced a number of special edition RX-7's over ther years.

Others of course will have other aftermarket body kits (Knightsports, RE Amemiya, etc. etc.)

That's what I thought at first but there seems to be a particular kit that appears on lots of the cars. Thinking about it they usually imports though. It's nothing too radical, just body coloured front skirts and a small rear mud guard but it improves the look of the cars considerably. Have all uk spec Fd's got black front skirts then?
