hey, i was reading an advertisement for an rx-7 on autotrader and it said the car had 'active valve control'. My querie is do rotaries have valves?? i didnt think that they did, i may be wrong, and im sure that you will correct me or confirm there are no valves.

As far as i know the only moving parts are the 2 rotars, the eccentric shaft and the external gear. is that right?

Some of the 6 port engines have "rotary valves" that close off the 5th and 6th ports below a certain RPM to increase low down torque.

I believe that they were fitted to the US 6 port 13B's , the later Euro 6 port 13b's and to the 6port 12a's sold in Japan

or it could be the usual bull**** that appears on some adverts

thats what i thought cos its a 13b rew engine. I just hate how people selling the cars can get things wrong.:( well maybe i could go buy it and tell him that "all the valves have fallen out" and get £3000 off the asking price:D
