Halfrauds price rises, bloody quick rises at that, Holts Rad flush (for the bionger) £3-49 on the shelf price,
But the price goes up to £3-99 by the time you get to the till! so paid for it as there was a long queue, grabbed a gormless twit with a badge to witness the price marked on the shelf, i'll get the manager he said then dissapears out into the car park, :2Confused ,no manager to be found, so in the queue again to get my money back, principle and all that. dimwit behind the till says he cant refund, but as my voice was getting louder and the queue getting longer, the manager appears swipes the till and i finaly get my money back, But only after i give my name and address! perhaps they send the heavy's round tonight, there is no sign as you go in that the prices will rise before you can get to the till, or that the price may increase by 12% or that prices are not neccesarily accurate! this is not the first time ive been ripped off by Halfrauds, i wonder how many get caught out by this practice! so watch out guys, what a way to waste time on a sunday! rant over

No doubt someone will correct me, but I am sure you could have insisted on purchasing it at the price displayed on the shelf, or alternatively if they refused to sell it you at that price, they have to remove the product from sale and then reprice it later.

That's how i understand it Richard, i will be going back today to see if they have taken them off sale.the manager did not want to come out of his hiding place, and i felt sorry for the other people in the queue, the boy at the till would not lower the price to that stated on the shelf, so i insisted on a full refund, when manager did show he did not like that at all! i will be writing to Trading standards people, today

Yep thats right, they should remove the goods & prices or sell it at the advertised price. It's detailed in the 'Sale of goods act' or or summit! :D

Yes Ricco i will remind them of that in my letter, also i have bought the same Holts rad flush somewhere else for £3-25, Halfrauds wanted £3-95!

Its Halfrauds that have the price wrong Turbonut, not the scoolies, that means they are ripping us off, you may be happy with it, but i'm not, the service was dreadfull the manager did not want to know, it's precisly because i don't have time to wait around for them to piddle around trying to get the price right that i complained, ok it's only 50p or 74p over any other supplier, but it's the principle, and not fair on all the other people in the queue, and it's not the money i won the pools, but sure it's worth a letter to try and stop them ripping us off,

hahah since when ever was halfrauds supposed to be the cheapest place to buy something??? You got a point tho, i dont like being ripped off. if i ever needed something like that i wouldnt bother with them id go to my local parts supplier, who i know on a first name basis (used to own a pug) thats why i wouldnt bother with halfrauds....

Matey, if it means that much to you then go for it, im glad that someone is doing something about it. although you might have to consider that halfords being a national chain might have bigger overheads..

Don't get me wrong mate, i have always admired the way Halfrauds manage to work out practically all thier prices to end with either 49 pence, or
99 pence,it must be very difficult for them to keep thier prices from going over the 99 pence into the next pound, but i'd bet if they did it would be to the next 49 pence! as i said this is not the first time i have been ripped off by them, it won't happen again,
Well i just wanted to share my wasted time at Halfrauds with you to guage thoughts, done that,
close please

You go for it. If the service was cr4p, then go for them. I dont care much about 49P, but they dont deserve any business if they're rude about the whole thing.

Fair enough the service may off been bad. But is your local parts supplier open on sunday and till 8pm week nights. thats why they have to charge more. Not every member of staff can tell you how to change spark plugs but what do you expect for minimum wage. each shop also looses £30,000 or more to shop lifters in a year which puts prices up. Yes they are unhelpful 95% of the time but you would be to if you worked with gommos all day. just my 2p

well if you got ripped off by them, why shop in there again? surely you should be asking yourself these questions before starting your campaign against halfords. reporting them and all sorts, besides all trading standards will do is ask them to make sure that they are putting the correct prices up. The manager must have apologised for the trouble. if not write to them and ask for an apology - be fair!

Anyway Halfords isnt that bad, i bought a full set of belts for my RX7 for 13 quid from them on a Sunday, a vender on here is wanting £74 and i dont think it includes delivery!!!

haha Rixio i know what your saying mate. A friend of mine worked for halfords too, one day i just got talking to him and then after that i used to get stuff on a heavy "discount" when my mate was there on a shift! :)

That is not my problem, and no excuse to rip me off to make up thier shortfall! and you cannot condone that, i chose to take my business to them, and the price quoted on the item rose 50 pence 12 % by the time i got to the till, i feel that is unacceptable, i let it go the first time because i was at the front of a long queue and hoped it may have been a mistake or perhaps they were unhelpfull because they had worked with gommos  all day. also not my problem! as you say 7 just your 2p, it was my 50p had the manager even acknowledged me or apologised for trying to rip me off i would have left it, you might like to know they still have not marked the price to what it should be, they have made no attempt to put it right, so in case you or anyone else happen to go in to buy the same product i will complain to prevent them ripping anyone else off.
Thanks for the moral support guys, :xconfused

I can see where your coming from, I'd hate to be ripped off like that as well, having worked in a similar store for about a years worth of weekends and weekdays I also know how busy it can get (and easy to forget to fix a price!)/how many schoolies they have working there who dont give a toss etc. I think if complaining to halfords it should be to head office, its them who set the rules for refunds (ie managers card needed & your details), but at the same time, theres also no excuse for poor service......most stores have a very low wage budget and as a result are usually running with bout 2 members of staff who know things and 7 young uns who rely on them getting them thru the day!!......lol im tired....hope that makes some sort of sense!!
