Hello everyone

I would like to appeal for some information, links, experience with rotary installations in different cars, particularly front wheel drive and mid engine installations. I am just toying with some ideas at the moment and would like to see what has gone before. t_keir@yahoo.com

Cheers
Trevor

Hi TREVOR!!!

Done a bit of searching around, looks like these guys may have done some conversions?

There was a kiwi guy named Rod Millen, he built a 4WD 1st Gen. RX-7 as a rally car using Mazda 626 FWD components. Was quite successful with it. Gearbox was provided by a guy called Peter Weismann who owned "Transmission Systems Research and Development" in the US. Rod also built a 4WD 2nd generation RX-7.

Maybe some more info. out on the internet somewhere.

Be bloody great to see! :)

Trevor,

I've done well - should have checked this out first:

Here is Rod's website, he is now in the US:

Looks like he has progressed a little since his racing days in New Zealand :)

Higgy, I never actually saw that car. I did speak with Jack, the current owner a few times, though. I should ask him if I can see that car, I know. It just never seem to happen (guess I'm too lazy).
BTW: my new turbo is just here... Looks very clean, must be the cleanest part I own :-)

BTW what about a 20B powered Ultima?
For those of you who don't know what an Ultima is: it's a very high performance Kit-car. Usually V8 powered, and faster then any Ferrari (they claim). Rotary power must make it real fast...

If I was rich enough, I'd build something like that, but I'd do some changes, and make it a 787B replica :D
