I've just another FD3s stock twin turbo set up and its whilseing like a steaming kettle on boost. The car was a straight sweap with one of my scoobs. Now i have checked all the boost and induction pipes and no leaks. However i do belive i have located the source of the whilse back to the blow off valve. I have an HKS SSQ on it and was wondering if anyone had one off a car, or any valve, that i could borrow for a couple of hours just to see if this is the problem or if not just to eliminate it as a possiblity?

I would be very greatful for any help

Just block the pipe to the blow off valve. That will tell you if it is playing up.

Block both the main pipe and the small vacuum jobbie. This will not harm the car at all to drive it like it so as to test it.

I have had it all apart and the spring may aswell have just been some string and the diapham busted aswell. So i think this may well have been the source of the not so wonderful whisle

Another FD? can I keep the one I've got here then? :)

At the right price :D

Some one wanted my scooby and they had an FD so i saw the error in my ways and swaped with him..... I'm really sorry im doing my best to come get it. i'm hoping david spoke to you to explain the situation.

However on a lighter not i managed to solve the whisling problem. I switched blow off valves which make the whilse less apparent but it was still there. Hunting around the engine i noticed to bolts under the elbow that attaches to the plenum had sheered off and where missing. Replaced those and bye bye to the unpleasant noises..... like driving a different car feels much tighter now.
