I have been quoted £280 for a new alarm, CAT 1 etc and all the trimmings since my old alarm went mental in the company car park howling away for two hours before it could be beaten into submission and controlled. Is now ripped out and disposed of. anyway is this a good price?

That`s a decent price, and you will be hard pressed to find better. I paid £300 for a Cat1 Sigma, but now wished I had gone for a Tracker instead.

In fact I may still fit the Tracker and bin the alarm as it is awkward when you have a turbo timer.

if you have a tracker and bin the alarm get a moniter, if you plump for the cheaper tracker keep the alarm, your dealer will probably tell you anyway but thats the advice i give my clients.

I looked at the better versions of RAC Trackstar and Tracker, but also came across another which is slightly more expensive, but may be just as good.

Apparently the other system is tiny, uses a built in power source which is good for 5 years and has no external aerial. The link unfortunately is on my computer, and it is safely packed away for my house move.
