Not sure this is the correct place to post however I have just got hold of the above power meter and need help please!

The power meter as new comes with instructions on how to wire to various ecu's. Does anyone on this fourm currently have / use this device and have these instuctions?
If so is it possible to copy / fax these for me?

Any help greatly recieved.......................

Is it the one that uses the OBD2 port? Blitz UK should be able to help you out but usually a google search does the trick :D

Whats the SJ bit? If you mean ID then it says in the manual..

Connect the RED wire to ignition 12v supply and find a suitable ground for the BLACK wire. The ORANGE wire needs to be connected to the ECU speed output. To locate the correct ECU pin, refer to ECU booklet. Using your vehicles chassis and engine code to locate the correct ECU map, attach the orange wire using the provided wire tap to the ECU speed output wire.

I agree that that in itself isnt very helpful :) I haven't fitted mine but i'll take a look tomorrow, it's so frickin cold here I haven't had the motivation to go outside and have a play. I'll go find the apexi manual. What ECU are you using?

http://www.xspeed.com.au/manuals.php

If you go there and download the Blitz Power Meter ID manual. Then download the Apexi Rev Speed Meter manual and look at ECU Wiring Diagram Z8, then that 'may' help. Just see if they match up.

I'll check myself in the morning, damned if im going back outside :)

(Z8 is for 95+, Z2 for 95 FDs and below btw, well, so it says)

right, ... thought i'd have another look around.

This from Shawnk on rx7club forums.

"I was having a problem tracking down the right wire to connect the orange wire from the Blitz power meter to the ECU and found no threads to help me so I thought I would post what I finally figured out.

The Power Meter documentation incorrectly lists the wire to hookup to on the ecu for the speed (at least my directions did). When holding the ecu with the harnesses facing toward you and the harness clips up the instructions list the 5th wire from the right on the top row. It is actually the 7th wire from the right on the top row. It was getting dark so I couldnt really see the color of the wire other than it was dark with a red stripe (90% sure about the color code). Hope this helps someone in the future!

Shawn"

From what I've seen this doesn't appear to apply to newer 95s and up though. That should be 6 along the top row from the other direction assuming that Vehicle Speed Signal is correct. Ill look in the morning unless someone can shed some light on this, (this is the bit where you say 'no not ID, it's SJ, its completely different'

Many thanks guys but mine IS thew smaller older SJ! Same size as the Blitz turbo timers!! Hey never mind I'll take a look at that site tomorrow ans see if there might be anything I can use.....If not this one only has four wires it is probabbly the same

doh :)

Four wires? The ID has 3 which makes it lots easier to know what goes where. I spliced the wire going to the 6th from the top|left, and works fine, doesn't need the SBC either, something else to distract me while im driving eh. I managed a lowly 17.7secs 1/4mile on a slippy wet winding road, not sure how accurate it is due to tyre sizes etc, but good for a laugh, and you can use it to compare previous runs to current so it has its uses whether its an accurate 1/4mile or not.

Just to recap if you have a 95|December and later model then one of the wires is most likely definitely going to go in the same place as mine, if it's 95 and earlier than december its 7th from the top|right. What your other wire is for i have no idea unless its optional and links to the SBC by wire instead of irda?

Cheers.
