Hi people, I'm looking at doing some more mods to the motor (existing specs are in my signiture below!!) Obviously I need an ECU to go any further  or so I've been told anyway.
But a mate of mine bought a skyline GTS the other week and its got an Apexi Super Air Flow Controler (SAFC) taged on to it, he showed me the destructions for it the other night, and apparantly you can adjust the fuel settings and the length of the injection bursts (more fuel?) also you get a funky real time display showing throttle posithion, RPM, and a few other bits  .
Would this be a cheeper option than a fully blown power FC, also what other bits could I look at getting to controle the important bits?
Not going to go dull with the car, staying sequential twins as I cant afford to go single (or the fuel to go in it!!)
Thanks for your help,
Cheers

Seems an OK mod, but to the best of my knowledge it will be limited to how much it can do for you.
An Apex'i power FC controls all of the engine parameters and is easy to work with and every tuner knows how to set one up spot on for your needs. Can also be easily tweaked when/if you add more at a later date(I think every RX owner says that'll do, then adds more- too addictive!).
Given that you can get Apex'i power FC's really cheap, under £400 if you look in the right places ;) Would seem the best bet.

Yea, I have seen them for about £390 - 450 on ebay from japan, then you've got the 500ish set up fee on the rollers!! Would I need to get a boost controler or would the power FC do that aswell? as mini over boosts (only on optimax though????) never done it on 97 ron fuel, but put optimax in and it all goes mental verry quickly!!

£500ish set up???  Should be around £250-300! Had mine done @ RE:Worx.
The Apex'i should control the boost spike, but a seperate boost controller is a good idea! Being able to set a high/low boost will give you some economy and fun for an open road or the weekend :yes
Greedy Profec BII boost controller seems the most popular and again all tuners are used to working/getting the best from this unit.
What it should cost.....
*Power FC- sub£400 delivered (nengun.com)
*Profec BII- £150ish (as above, this is without postage, but ordering with FC should'nt cost much more, if at all.)
*Mapping- £250-300 plus around £50-60 fitting of boost controller.
You'll need a non hotmail email to registar with them.

I agree - go with nengun! That's where i got my apexi from. I got mine with the commander too - nice to be able to see output from it, including peak hold values for identifying maximum values.

Cheers for that guys.
I've only got one set up price from westec in newport as it's the closest RR to me ( and Ive got to travel 120 miles to get there!!!)
So I'll be looking around the 950 mark to get the motor all set up and ready to go??
Being the car would have to be set up I may aswel go for an intercooler, down pipe and decat the beast aswell to get the best out of it, Yea??
Nice shopping list for the family & Mrs's to look at there :chat :yes !!!
Cheers guys,

Defo best to get the lot together, will save you cash in the long run, as the ECU won't need remapping for each mod!!
You should see some good power with that lot!!
