Well I've finally admitted defeat. When I first picked my car up the head unit/speakers were displaying very strange characteristics, sound coming out of the wrong place, all muffled etc. Figured it must be something to do with the speakers being wired up wrongly, but having tried 2 head units, innumerable "adapter" blocks, manually re-routing the wires etc my (admittedly insignificant) knowledge has been expended. I now have grazed and cut knuckles and fingers, a couple of knackered pairs of headphones, some chopped off and virtually unreachable speaker wire, and no sound.

Can anyone recommend any places around the South London area who would be able to sort this out for me? I don't want anything flash, just a set of decent speakers in the front and the wiring redone, no amps/subs etc. And what sort of ballpark figure would I be looking at to get the work done? I'm guessing a competent experienced person with the right set of tools could have it done within a day, but I'm loathe to take it to Unicar or somewhere else not used to RX7s as I've heard horror stories of door cards being cracked/torn etc.

Sorry this is a bit late.

Have you tried other speakers, the ones youve got maybe fubar (broke). If so you may be suffering from interfence, although on a standard system that is unlikely.

If you havent yet, try new speakers, if that dont work, ummmm, i dunno, ill have a think.
