Hi,

ive had a busy w/end of playing with the rex's front end.

ive just installed 4 new knightsports spots. the problem is every time theyre on for more than 10 seconds smoke comes out of the bonnet....DOH!
they are wired two in parrallel and back into the original wiring, they're all well insulate with heat shrink.

whats happening?? do you think the original cable is too small??

AAAGGGHHHHH!!!

Mazda are renowned for giving us only juuuuuuuust enough wire to feed the standard headlights. This is not just on the RX-7. I wanted to uprate the bulbs on the 323, and on the GTX forum I found out that I would need new cables, and probably a new relay, too, so I gave up on the idea.

You will need to upgrade the relay and cables or run the spots on their own relay and cables.

just worked out the lights are prob running 18amps, far too much for the standard cable, so im gunna install a relay and 6mm cable direct from battery with inline fuse....

should solve my little dilema.

Thanks

Nick
