Hi all :)

Ok im in the middle of sorting out my ICE install in my fd...

What size are the speakers in the front doors as id like to replace these with a good set of compents? ( i have them infront of me but im not sure which part to measure )

Another question - i have an Alpine CDA-9812Rb head unit which ill be using but im not sure whick rca plug to use...Ill only have the one amp in the system which will be running the components and a sub in the boot..Do i use the "F" the "R" or the "sub" rca output on the back of the head unit?

Thanks

gavin..

Whats the amp? Has it got a sperate line in for the sub?

In the ideal world you want a 6inch speaker (around a 15cm). Dont go for 2-way speakers as they tent to be far to tinie with poor bass responce use a proper componant set up with the mid woofer and tweeter much clearer sound. I use 6.5inch focal polykevlar's and run them off a 5 channel genesis amp with an 8 inch rockford sub..... and it all works a treat.

Don't know if you have sorted your stereo out yet.... but:
The amp wireing, realy you need a 4 channel amp if your running 2 speakers and a sub,
or if your running front, rear and a sub you'll need eather 2 amps or a 6 channel amp!
Anyway for 2 speakers and a sub:
Depending if your amping the front or rear speakers, use the corresponding output on the stereo to the amp. For the Sub, use the sub output from the H/unit into the remaining amp channel ( you can then controle the volume of the sub from the H/unit).
Bridge these 2 channels for a single sub, or run 2 subs: left & right and wire them as standard!

Any other help you need,
PM me or reply to this.
