Ok... I've been looking to buy a 3rd gen rex, the only thing holding me back so far being insurance, the bane of all young motorists, especially those with a taste for speed. Did the usual thing, and checked around the normal sources for online quotes, just to get a rough idea of what I'd be paying. Some were not too bad, others were horrific :)
The only trouble was that they all had the capacity listed as 2354cc, except for automatics, where it was occasionaly listed correctly as 2616...
My question is, if I were to purchase insurance online, would the policy be invalidated by this mistake, or could it be argued that since the third gen RX-7 was only ever available with one sized engine, that it was assumed that the 2354 was simply what the rotary engine was designated as by the insurance company, in the same way that the DVLA likes to call it 2616?
Also, (and I'm assuming that it would be invalidated) what have people found their actual quotes are like compared to online quotes they've got? Are they representative at all, or am I wasting my time online?
Thanks :)
