there is a 1990 Turbo II on loot for a £1000 but its over 250 miles away from me , or on the other hand i can get a C reg egi for £200 from a bloke about 200 meters away !!!
i know nothing about the TII , but the EGI has a jan speed exhaust , new clutch ( less than 2000 miles on it ) , the down side is that the body work is really really really tatty
WHAT DO I DO ???
i really fancy a TII . but is it worth driving for over 4 hrs to see a car , that could be in bad nick ( for a grand what can i expect ?? )
Just wondering what you guys would do
Failing this if any of you live in sevenoaks ( kent ) or near it , you could go and look at the TII for me and give me an update
Thanks
Stu

i wish i never had sold it ! damn these RX7's !!!
but i dont know what to do , i would really like a turbo II , but i dont know if its worth driving all that way to find out its a dog ( so to speak ! )
at the end of the day i loved my EGI , but i like the idea of a Turbo II as it will be a better car ( ie turbo )
i dont want to just buy the EGI cause its cheap , and then miss out on a turbo II , or then again i dont want to miss the EGI if the TII turns out to be knacked !
so i dont want to be tooo hasty in what i do , but then again i dont want to miss out on both of them ( that would be a kick in the pants !! )
thats why i thought i would come on here and ask for advice !
and the comment of "Wishing he NEVER sold his egi in the first place ! " - just means that the day after i sold it , i was looking for another one , i thought i could have let it go like any other car i had sold , but no , its not that simple , it just a pity that they dont cost thousands to buy and thousands to insure , that way i would never look at another one , but at this rate i know i can have a RX7 on the road and running for less than £600 ( or possibly a Turbo II on the road for about £1400 )

*** update ***
just spoken to the bloke about the TII and here's the speil :
1 - its done 120K miles
2 - Never been rebuilt
3 - Turbo OK
4 - Runs rough when it gets hot at tick over ( ie at lights )
5 - He suugest that it needs a rebuild
6 - Got £700 worth of ICE in it
7 - He's had it for 8 yrs
8 - Serviced every 3000 miles
so then , does this point me to a £200 one with tatty body work , that i could end up respraying a nice yellow or orange colour ?

£1000 pound for t2 then 1500 for rebiuld. if the body is good then you have agood car for 60000m and you wont want anything else. but you will bid the man and get the car for 600 when you tell him the engine will cost 2000 to do and you dont think any one else will buy it,,,, ha ha
the egi sound like a slow old dog

cunning plan - they guy knows about rx7 - thats why its cheap - he says the engine is going
he will drop to 800 but it will cost me a mint in juice to get it , is it easier to hold out and spend 2000 on one thats been rebuilt ?
BUT
im tempted by the egi for 200 at this moment intime
i have a baby on the way and cant really afford 2-3K for a car !
BUT
i have just had a quote for the EGI .. wait for it ... 225 fully comp inc breakdown and legal - whats all that about eh !
will keep you all informed of my decisions though
thanks for all the advice

I'd buy whichever one has the best bodywork ... Bodywork is by far the most expensive to sort out properly (unless you have the capacity to do the work yourself)

BNA - there were two cabs in surrey but they went months ago - if its these you are talking about ( on find it website )
Jonrms - i bet you want a bit more than £200 !
MikeLMR - im on a tight budget! - the one at £200 has what i class as the orange peel effect on the wings and stuff - but it would give me an intro into doing body work - i did some on the astra when i had it and it kept me out of trouble for a while
i think at this point the girl friend is about to leave me if i keep talking about rx7's - so there is no way i can spend a lot on buying one
the idea of paying £200 is that
1 - its cheap
2 - keeps her happy
3 - if it gets nicked - who cares
4 - see above if you crash it / smash it / scratch it
any body else with idea's - keep em coming !
thanks
