18" OZ Superleggeras - Brake Clearance Issues?

I went to go and get some OZ Superleggeras today, and whilst they were on the phone to the suppliers, the supplier stated that the 18's would not clear the brake callipers? I'm a bit miffed now to say the least, but does anyone know if this is the case with the majority of 18's, or do they know any way around it?

is this for the 3rd gen i take it??

if it is i think he's talkin a bit of poop there to be honest unless the wheels are very odd and thick, if the offsets rite they wont go near the calipers

Yeah, it was for a 3rd gen. I was looking at 9*18 on the front, ET40 or slightly higher, and the same for the back. WOuld these offsets be ok?

thats *should* be ok though i would try them first, i "think" the official offset for the rx7 is 49mm


unless the wheels are really thick i think you should be able to get away with it, but like i said i would try them first!

Well, doesn't matter now unfortunately. Motorsport wheels (who import OZ and BBS rims) are refusing to say that any wheels will fit the mazda. Apparently, no BBS rims fit the rx7 at all, which I know is cobblers but they won't sell me any wheels now. :mad:

I have a friend in Denmark who runs 19x8 BB RC and know someone in Sweden with 18" BBS challenge

The RZ comes with 17" BBS as standard!

Yes that is what I have heard aswell, i would be interested in a set if they did a 9J.

I typed the BBS RC size wrong. He has 18x8 all around, not 19".

And whats this repect thing? Just remember this, you may be getting three rotors some time within the next 5 years, but you'll still be at the back of the queue. :D
