Will these fit

Know the size is right but wasnt too sure about the mounting depth...

I thought rear FD speakers were 5" x 7",never heard of a 6" x 8" before,I know i definitely put 5" x 7" in my FD and they went straight in.

Yeah I have just done mine recently and they were 6 x 8.

Andrew at Jimmys came up trumps with a nice set. He has replacement standard ones in stock but the cone is very fragile and the sponge round the outside of the speaker becomes brittle and breaks off. You should have seen the state of the ones I took out, no wonder they were buzzing !!! I swear some moisture gets into the car through the boot when you open it after its been raining and the water goes down onto the speakers.

One word of advice though, after you have removed the rear seats and are taking the rear interior panels out be careful and pull them gently. Try to feel for the metal clips encased in plastic that hold them on as the plastic is very brittle and can snap easily.

Yeah ive heard 5x7 fit straight in aswell Gary, as you obviously found out :) I'd never heard of a 6x8, apparently its a common size for mondeos as well

Cheers for tip & link Gareth, I already had one panel off which is why I thought I may aswell replace the speakers while im there :) Hate that sound when they unclip, always think its breaking!
