can take my rotor this weekend guys.
got my rego application returned to me today.
it's been returned because i didn't pay road tax at the time of application.

the guy that processed my form must have been confused between exempt from sva and exempt from road tax.
i see on the form he wrote 'historic' in the taxation class, and zero in the amount, but a car has to be older than 1/1/73 to be exempt from road tax. annoying thing is i knew that but figured i would have to go to PO whenever papers came thru to get tax disk.

suffice to say i'm pretty down about it. car should still be on the road within a week, but rotorstock...

If you take all the paperwork in person to main office in your area they will normally process the paperwork while you wait for the doc's. If its as quick as our main office its normally 55mins queing and 5 mins to get the paperwork.

really? that's what i did on tuesday, and the guy told me it was a 72hr service and that they have to do some checks or something. i even asked him if i could have a reg number to get the plates made and he said i had to wait til the docs were posted out.

wow! the forms that have been returned to me are partially completed.. including registration number (scribbled out on carbon copy interestingly, but completely intact on original ;) )

and if they don't change it (and i don't see why they would) it looks like my allocated reg number begins CRX !!!

They may of changed the rules again its about a year since i was ther last. It had to be your area's main office though sub offices have to send the paperwork to the main office for checking before issueing paperwork.
Maybe a better option i bet someone on here will have a set of trade plates they could loan you
