Ok all,

Hi there. Just signed up as I am looking to pick up an RX-7 and after bowsing forums here you all seemed like a good knowledgeable and friendly bunch of guys. So this will probably be first of many many dumb questions from me...

Just wanted to ask if any of you had bought from Linney and how you rate them on service and pricing. Theres a few cars there I would consider purchasing and feedback would be nice.

I know Ben from Linney hangs out on here, so don't worry Ben, I have no doubts as to your service, I just always ask for opinions before I by anything substantial. Probably the tight scots git coming out in me. Feel free to wax lyrical about yourself :D

Thanks in advance for your help guys, and hopefully I can join the club sooner rather than later.

Feyd - are you actually in Paris??

Only I thought the froggies were REALLY strict on mod'd cars i.e. performance mods are a real no-no? I n which case you'll want to make sure you're getting a stocker??

Import-wise, I think Ben is starting to learn about the RX7 a bit now :-)

Have you joined FDUK-buyers?

if not...

20B,

Thanks for the reply. Yes I am in Paris just now for work, but I tend to swap countries a lot. In all probability I would register and insure in the UK, and park it up in Scotland (with the parents). I am sure my father wont object as long as he gets to drive it too.

As for insurance in France most people seem to take the "this car is modified, whatever do you mean officer, this is how it was when I bought it" approach. So don't actually declare it :D Everyone over here is a con-artist.

Hi there Feyd,

Which RX did you fancy ? i don't usually put reserved signs on any of the cars, but we only have two rotartys left (1999 rx and the 1992 black rx with MS01 mazdaspeed rims)... Rx's are very popular at the moment, in my experience getting more interest/requests than Skylines, Evo's and Supras etc... which isn't really very surprising being better looking, value for money and performance etc..

Yes i think its very fair to say i'm personnally not as technically sound in certain areas as say Brian, Glen, Miguel etc. etc....

But we have rotary engineers in Japan who inspect before we purchase, GPA / Reworx does/will take care of any rotarys that get sea sick... and i like to think we use the best SVA company in the UK...

Price wise we are competitive and average price compared to most car dealers....where possible i like to only purchase the best examples.. Of course we are not as good value for money as the companies that act in a consultancy capacity... or even importing yourself... all have their own merits and disadvantages.

Hope that helps :D

Who do you use for SVA then Ben - if it's not a secret - ?

Where are they based - if you'd rather not give their name?
