I was thinking of picking up a Sony CD Head Unit from the USA which I have never done before. I then thought about my JAP Double Din DC Radio that came with my REX, and that it wouldnt search the UK FM band to pick up loads of stations. Would a US head unit do the same thing?

You'd need to check the spec on the stereo , I got a doudle din tv headunit from hong kong but it used the UK wave bands
Not sure if the yanks use a different waveband , maybe try asking on one of the yank forums

Yes, the american wavebands are different to both us and japan....i'm sure you can get a converter to change from usa to uk wavebands....just like you can with japan to uk wavebands.
Anything else like speakers, subs, amps etc, is fine to buy and use.

I bought a kenwood tv head unit from the states last year and cannot get a radio signal. My local audio shop gave me a couple of waveband converters to try but that did'nt solve the problem either.
Then i tried the kenwood website and there's a reset you can do which can sort it but is not guarenteed.Did'nt work for me, as for sony no idea mate but keep us posted if you have any luck.
Cheers Danny
