Been fitting the stereo gear today....everything went in ok, subs, amps, speakers, tv screens, ps2......then the headunit :(

it worked fine yesterday and this morning, then we go to start it up once everything was in.....and nothing!!!!!

We have had to fit a sperate battery wire to it as for some reason the main feed in the mazda loom was cut out!?!?!, but we did that when it we put the power cable thro the bulk head when we first started.

We have checked everything.....all the cars fuses, the fuses we have installed (all at correct amp ratings btw), the earth mounts....everything....all the spade connectors...and its all fine!!

But the headunit seems to have given up.....we tried it in my mates, and it didnt work....the thing is, its a brand new never fitted headunit that i bought 5 months ago, but have installed it yesterday......do you think the shop will replace it....its still under warranty.

One thing i did notice, a cigarette lighter fuse had blown as well when i was going thro the in car fuse box.....it was a 15amp flat fuse, didnt have one spare so i put a 20amp one in, but it doesnt seem to have done anything.

I wonder when the headunit stopped that it would blow the cigarette fuse....i have heard those are connected some how!?!?

Dan you act surprised. After seeing you fit your steering wheel and the standard of connection of the horn, nothing could surprise me now.:rollin

On a more serious note mate, try the supplier tomorrow and let me know tomorrow evening if they`re not interested and i can get it checked over Tuesday for you.

have you checked the internal fuse on the stereo or does it just have a spade one on the loom?

I can nip it into instrumentation mate. Bloke in there has fixed anything i`ve thrown at him. Complete anorak. Even knows codes of chips and things like that. Bit peculiar though but it won`t cost anything because i think he fancies me. It`s all that sex appeal i ooze all over the place, either that or he finds me sexy because i drive a Supra!:cool

I know who you mean dave, i remeber you telling me about him before....if i have no joy then we'll give that guy a go.
