i am STILL after a set of wheels for my '85.was recently contacted by performancealloys.com(who have been the only helpful source so far),and they said that only a handful of wheels made by Fox are available.the trouble is,i really fancy the look of some Wolfrace,OZ,and Kosei wheels.if i do have to settle for a set of Fox's(not too much of a bad thing, really),could anyone tell me if a 16"set of Fox 3s will jeopardise my handling?i'm not really a big wheel fan,but having looked at the size i wanted(15"/50),they looked strangely daft, whereas the 17s looked fantastic.i will be getting some next week,so a rapid response is strongly appreciated!

I've got a set of 15's on my car ... they are made by compomotive and had to be specially ordered.
You should be looking for 7" wide rims with an offset of 38mm's and a maximum of 205 treadwidth on the front. the stud pattern is 4 x 114.3. Word of warning the tyre is a VERY tight fit on the front strut and anything over 205 on the front will most likely rub

thanks so much for all the info,Mike,is there anything you don't know?one thing i did notice about the 195s i have on at the moment is the turning circle was drastically reduced!do you reckon it is possible to put 195s on the front, and say,215s on the back?i really am a halfwit when it comes to technical stuff,so lots of people are probably laughing at me!:p 205s on the front did used to rub when turning hard, too(on standard wheels).is it true that Mazda made the wheel width too little to properly accomodate 205s? thanks yet again, you really ought to start writing a book or something...:god

no rubbing yet on my car with 205/50R15's... although it has the standard springs at the moment. ( got some RB's on order from Rotechniks if they ever get their A into G) But I imagine my 18 year old springs are about the same height as the -1" RB ones so it shouldn't rub
yes, for some reason Mazda made the rims 5.5"'s wide which is very borderline for a 205 tyre. They probably got away with it as the side wall is quite tall (60 profile)
you can go wider on the rear but then you loose the option of rotating tyres and you can spoil the balance of the car (most autoX cars in the states run the same front and rear)

RBs?do you mean Racing Beat?please let me know how you get on with them.bet they're not cheap..!and did you get ripped off with your glass sunroof?badness.fitted some solid ace brake pads on the front last week, with copper strands.never heard of them, but 1000xbetter than hawk!actually cleaned my car out at the weekend, and she looks stunning!for white, any way!sonic blue respray awaits, along with mariah mode 4 etc etc etc.probably years away, but i can wait!like i have for my wheels.thought you had compomotives fitted.preludes have a 4x114.3 fitment, too, don't they?but the offset is COMPLETELY different.don't know if you are interested, but i saw a site on paypal that sells really nice instrument panels(speedo, fuel, etc).knowing you,you probably already have it!much prettier than that orange.i'll be getting one as soon as i register with paypal.keep having to control my laughter when the boy racers at work tell me their 106s and fiestas(1.1s!!!)are faster than my 12a turbo!you really can not polish a turd,no matter how hard you try!:rollin
