Hi all - going to look at this car tomorow, from the description given to me buy the seller, it needs a rolling road sesion as it's a little lumpy at the upper section of the rev range, there are cotrols for the mapping within the car, but difficult to set up due to speeds involved apparently, are RE chips anygood? what's S-AFC? i'm real blind on this guys, as Jap turbos are a bit of a new area for me, so any advice much appreciated. Here's the wording for the ad.

93, Manual, 12MOT/6TAX, HKS BOV & Exhaust, RE Chip & Dials & boost guage, Apexi Turbo Timer & S-AFC, recent engine. 33000 miles.

It sounds like it needs setting up. If I were buying the car id insist on this being sorted before putting any money on it as it could potentially be a nightmare.

It also sounds like its not running right, which would worry me to the condition of the engine and whats already been done to it.

Having said that it might be ok so id check it out, but if it wasnt right i wouldnt take a risk on it.

Edit: re amemiya ecu should be good but id worry about its abilty to be looked after in the country.

An apexi SAFC is a fuel computer, but I have never used one so cant say much about it

Sounds dodgy, you dont know what the RE is chipped for. And if it is for the mods on the car then you wouldn't need an afc. Be Careful.
