Hey guys, not too much of an exciting thread this but thought I would share with everyone how i try to make myself really homesick. Basically every other day I log onto the Ausrotary web site to see what old skool is for sale and on occasian there are some reall drool worthy purchases to be had. My girlfriend tells me I am banned from looking at all aussie car sites as It isnt good for my mental health but I still manage to creap on for a gander.:D Like i said, not too interesting. Just a small scary insight into the mind of an old skool fiend.:rollin

I do exactly the same! I'm always looking at trademe.co.nz which is much bigger than e-bay.co.nz. I almost brought a Savana RX-3 coupe off there a few months back but the price went a little higher than what I thought it was worth.
I like to torture myself as well :p

now if you really want to torture yourself, pick up a 20 year old copy of Cars and car conversions or similar and then check the prices of parts in the adverts and look in the cars for sale section :D

Guys, why do we do it to ourselves???? aotearotor, I thought that you lived in the uk? Or were you just thinking of buying the savanna 3 for stashing somewhere quiet for when you return.:D And that 1800 wagon loos like it would be such a cool ride for the every day struggle agianst the mondeo and such alike:rolleyes:
I used to have quite a few old skool cars and unfortunantly sold it all off pretty much when I moved to japan. (am now in uk). Still have a set of RX4 wagon tail lights stashed at a secret location and a brand new set of un used rx4 hubcaps just waiting for me to return. Its the little things in life huh?

He, he, he. That is quite funny as on my favourites list I have a real estate search web site for oz! Mind you I think it is pretty much a definate that I will be going back in a year or 2.
Perhaps we should start a southern hemisphere support group!
And besides all mem need somewhere to store their constantly growing collection of funky old mazdas.:D
The place in oz we are looking at currently is 1 and a half acres. Should almost do.:p

I too have the Aus rotary web site in my favourites amongst others, for instance, i got an account with "theaustraliashop.co.uk" setup, so I can get me salada's, cherry ripes, polly waffles and not forgetting the good ol bbq shapes. does that make me the saddest home sick puppy now:D

Geez, how can you even write BBQ SHAPES on the screen for a homesick aussie to find on a cold sunday morning. Just cruel man.
My mum sent me and my girlfriend a big box of stuff for christmas and it was stuffed with twisties! top lady my mum.

do you think we could persuade them to stock cars ? :D
I'm disapointed in the choice of DVD's ... Mad Max 2 and not the original which is miles better (only the un dubbed version though)

Too funny guys. Too funny. I think at this time of year in particular it harder to stop myself from looking through the magic world of the internet at the warmer side of the globe. I was working on my off road buggy today and the rain was insane. It has been raining up here on mull for weeks now! Makes it hard to get anything done :( Or thats my excuse anyway.

I was talking to a very good friend in oz yesterday and he was destroying me with the flippant attitude he so readily dispays regarding old skool stuff.
"oh yeh, there is an RX4 sedan just sitting in someones front yard not too far from me. Been there for ages. Oh and a 13oo 2 door sedan in a ladies backyard next to a friend of mine. ...etc"
Would you like me to lie down whilst you kick me?
It does make the winter months harder to take, when you are extreemely broke and still logging on to rotary websites.
Like I said....why do we do it to ourselves?:rollin

Bob count yourself lucky because up there at least you have some room to muck about with cars - I can't afford garage space and you're not allowed to work on cars in the car park of our appartment block :( :D

yes I am very lucky. The state that I live on is called Glengorm, and the landlord is a bloody top bloke. Puts up with alot of my car stuff, and takes me offroading in his series 3 landy too.
Sure none of my workspace is undercover but I a, allowed to have full use of his workshop space and tool. Including a 2 post hoist!
All the properties in oz my girlfriend and I are saving for are at leat 1/2 an acre. As get older:D I am needing, not just wanting, but needing a huge garage.heated of course.....well I am a light weight aussie!
