I just been watching one of the Sky sports channels and found a great little fact.

Mazda have a race series running in USA, using single seaters powered by 13B Renesis engine.

Spec's of the cars can be found here (http://www.starmazda.com/regulations/2004draftrules.htm).

Star Mazda Website (http://www.starmazda.com)

Now why cant Mazda UK do something nice like this. ;)

PS. They even have a driver with the name of 'COSMO' :D

Easier to read version of the car specs (http://www.rotaryrockets.com/car.html) from one of the competitors.

really goes to show how reliable the rotary really is when used/tuned and looked after correctly, I seem to recall Glenn saying that the N/A 13B Improved Production egines in Aus make 350 odd hp and last for a few seasons racing before a rebuild.

I'm sure Dave Nixon and Stacey Vickers have a similar experience over here.

To be fair to Mazda though they have provided the cars for Formula Women this year (although I can't say I watched much of it)

one of these cars was at the racing car show last January at Birmingham NEC.
They used to race in South Africa too.
Also the Jim Russell racing driver schools in the US use a very similar type of single seater to teach up and coming racers there craft.
