Hi Richard,

You could pick up a 10 second 1/4 mile RX-4 from Australia for around £5000-7000 (£1000 for shipping).

Obvioulsy would be a pretty serious thing indeed.

Check out the www.ausrotary.com For Sale section.

i wish that was for sale, but its just a pic of a nice one i found.

i've been looking at 4's but preffer the rx-3's rear lights, is it possible to put them on the rx-4? and is the rx-3sp still available anywhere? i just saw an old brochure for it and it looks well good.

how are the parts to get hold of?

sorry about all the questions but i dont know very much about old skool rotaries, im sure there'll be many more to follow

;)

Rich,

We Aussie's are RHD!

If you want details on em - I know almost all about the old schools.

The RX-3 coupe is the most sought after in most countries, they probably look the best and they weigh nothing. So 350-400hp and 750kgs makes a VERY fast car indeed.

Parts are hard to find, but the trick would be to get one in good condition. Hey some of the cars for Sale in Oz have had LOADS spent on them, new paint, panels, parts you name it. And they can come with a 13B turbo, aftermarket ECU, big exhuast, large IC, strong gearbox and diff etc. etc.. Ready to run quicker numbers than those damn GTR's!

I have quite a few contacts in Oz, I could even get some guys to look at cars for you.

Let me know.

.ps Check out http://www.mymazdarotary.com/your_mazda_rotary/mates_rotaries/mates_rotary_photos.htm and the rest of my site for photo's.

How about this RX-2?

http://ausrotary.dntinternet.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4205

AUD $18,000 is around £6500 + shipping to here. Has run 10.75 & 128mph on Optimax @ 14psi.

"350-400hp and 750kgs makes a VERY fast car indeed." :rollin i think with my inexperiance 200bhp would be awsome

"I have quite a few contacts in Oz, I could even get some guys to look at cars for you."

I'll let you know when im deffinetly going for it as am not 21 till august :(

i think i like the rx-3 more after looking at a fair few on-line.

what would a mint rx-3 with 13b t go for? All standard. i have about £6500 in the bank now.

Lukes rx-3 is stunning.

The RX-3's can be expensive - maybe a little more so than RX-2's and 4's.

This RX-3 (yellow one - it may be sold now for around $25,000 I think) this is one awesome RX-3.

http://www4.tpgi.com.au/adsy01/pics/sign2.jpg

It made something like 444kW at the rear wheels a while ago.

Another place to look for cars in Oz is:
http://www.tradingpost.com.au/search.asp?State=NSW&sMsg=keywordsearch

Then refine the search for RX-3 as a keyword, Automotive --> Cars --> etc.

ahhhh just got a quote from elephant.co.uk for £800 fully comp on an rx-4. or £600 for tptf when im 21, could have got it lower but the site just shut at 11:30 damb. sounds a bit better than £1200 for the 3rd gen, faster too.

Hi Rich,

Just make sure you tell em about all the mods eventually, and if it is a second car - reduce the miles, increase the excess and you'll be laughing.

£6500 would get you an RX-3 - try looking in europe too.
LHD is all good for rotaries as there is a ton of space down that side of the motor... exhaust and intake both on the right:mad: I am currently designing a LHD rack conversion for my RHD 616.

i'll try that, although RHD is what i really want. If I can't find what im looking for i'll stick to my original plan of a 3rd gen.:bandit
