i will have loads of pics to be posting soon.
keep a eye on this space
oh yeah one last thing.. it is amazing what engine degreaser can do for your car...
i didnt know that the thing that says egi or mazda on the top of the engine near the window was a chrome colour... i have loads of cleaning under the engine but hey i am haveing a great time...
:D
TOP TIP.
go out and buy a roto zip...
i did and it is fantastic in pollishing up little things in the engine and also very very handy... ask anyone who has one.... it is bloody fantastic...

Hows about a nice exhuast system?

Jonrms
23rd June 2003, 07:32 AM
a nice exhaust system YESSSSSS
and alloys.
those are a few more bits i am after.
i have also just bought a turbo bonnet
so that will be fitted soon
but the alloys and exhaust system i am still looking for.
wink wink
if anyone knows where you can get a nice decent pair of either wheels or exhaust then let me know.
my budget is shrinking...
and my wife is going to kill me.
:D

now i get to keep my car more pics are being updated.
well just to let you all know i got my turbo bonnet today.. made of fibre glass. well it is the scoop at least.
ANYONE OUT THERE work with fibre glass and want to team up in selling this.. considering it cost about 300£ which included shipping and posting..
we can make more of these and charge only about 100£
this will be very cost effective.
and this can go on virtually any car.
anyway i will post pics of this soon and also i got my alloy supports made up for my spoiler.. now i can properly thrash it..
anyway i better be clicking away with my web cam so you can have some pics...
oh yeah... one more thing. i have bought a TV 7 1/2 inch for my car to go where the dials are for the venting.
i need to know some answers before i go and rip apart my dash.
1. the venting system ie dials. are the mechanical or electrical?
i think they are electrical as i didnt feel any resistance when i put hot or cold possisition..
2. i dont want to go and rip appart the dash myself. i want help so does anyone know of anyone or anywhere i can go to get those dials relocated to where the ash tray and lighter are.
i want it do blend in and look natural.
thanks guys. your the best!!!!:rollin

7th July 2003, 11:29 AM
i like the dial..... how much is the kit and did it come with the shiny suround?

Jonrms
7th July 2003, 11:57 AM
the dial kit was about 150 us dollars... and then it cost more to ship to uk. plus vat and tax.
the alloy bessel. was around 75 us dollars plus a little shipping and tax
so all in all it was about 200 pounds..
but it is best when it glows blue at night!!!!
fantastic.

7th July 2003, 12:08 PM
can you put up a link for the place?

Jonrms
7th July 2003, 11:55 PM
yeah sorry.. it was very simple. go to ebay.. and make sure you search for rx7.. and also make sure you search under items available to the uk!!!!
you get loads.
most of my things have been bought in differant countrys..
and it is a cheaper way of doing all this.
hence why i have been able to do alot in a very short time..

Jonrms
10th July 2003, 02:22 PM
rich i have dial up. it doesnt take that long.. but i suppose if you looked at the entire file. it may take a while.
page by page is the best and dont over lap
anyway what do you think so far..
not bad considering it started off very rusty and nearly scrapped.

richrx
10th July 2003, 02:31 PM
ye it's looking good. it should be all the better if you done all the work yourself:D

how about putting a 13b rew into that beetle in the backgroung:rolleyes:

Jonrms
11th July 2003, 12:25 AM
i restored that car for my wife .. she would kill me.
but i have to say i have thought about it.... lol
anyway i am toying with the idea that i should buy a TT engine.
ie twin turbo..
not audi tt
to put in my rx
need to find one cheap..
that is gonna be tough
anyway.. i will probably sell mine.. only just turned 40 k on the clock..
not bad for a 86 is it???

richrx
11th July 2003, 02:18 AM
i like the second gens, and love the fact cars are so old and can still out look a new car:D

hmm BMW 3 series or RX-7, i just cant decide:rollin :rollin

no offence to the 3 series owners, there just common

Jonrms
11th July 2003, 10:30 AM
rich. you can have mine if the price is right. i want a 3 series .... dont know why but i do...

i have to say i love mine... though. it it the best as far as i am concerned... i still have loads that need to go on... but hey ... that is the endless battle of modifications.

Jonrms
14th July 2003, 08:28 AM
ok problems...:reallymad
i bought the lights... as you have all seen.
heres the problem there TOO BIG
honest ;.
they are meant for the american and japaneese market.. meaning there is a much smaller gap between number plates..
not too big of a problem.. but it meant i have had to order the jap numberplate bit... (you know the plastic thing between the lights...) anyway i am waiting for that to arrive from japan..
second problem.
i realised how much work it is gonna take to get this bonnet thing to work.
not as simple as i first thougt.. the bonnet of the rx is very very thick..
meaning alot of layers.
so either i cut it and work around the supports or i give up and try to find a turbo bonnet myself...
i dont think i will do any of the cutting on the bonnet.. it is way too difficult.. plus i have a fear of messing up!!!

Jon
Beware, I think (not sure) that the T2 bonnet has different mountings / hinges compared to a EGI, but I'm sure Rotechniks or someone could help.

Jonrms
15th July 2003, 01:54 PM
thanks for that i will try rototechnics...
i didnt know where to turn.
only problem now is finding someone who wants to fit the bonnet and or is willing to buy it off of me..
well we will see.
