Clive, have a look here (http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=279). Starts with FD sizes, then earlier models added a bit lower down.
But the only real way of checking, is once you have found a wheel that you like, go to the place selling them and try them up against your car. This way you can also tell if they suit the car or not. Most good companies will have no problem with doing this.

If it helps i have just had a look at mine and they are 38mm offsets on a 8x18" rim which fit well.
I am looking at geting some new Rims at the Moment and have been told that i may get away with 9x18" with the same 38mm offsets so my Tyre set up will be 225/40/18" on the Ft and 255/35/18" on the rear.
Just to add to this i have Uprated the suspension as well and it has a 1 1/2" drop.
If you do decide to lower it make sure you get the camber plates and rear camber bar.
